I hold a Bachelor's Degree in both meteorology and computer science.
I am currently a broadcast meteorologist (point at the weather map and SMILE) who dabbles in programming on the side. I've been doing broadcast meteorology for about 15 years. Yep, I'm the one that interrupts your favorite program during severe weather. I MAKE NO APOLOGIES!!
Several years ago, I thought it would be a good idea to diversify a bit. I began chipping away at a computer science degree while working full time and starting a family. I was crazy, but I finished.
Why put up a web site? Well, one reason was to learn more about PHP, MySQL, HTML and Javascript. I also thought it would be nice to have a place to show others what I've done. This site will expand as I work on other projects. I'm currently working on a GIS-based program involved weather data. Fun stuff.
I've done work with several computer languages (C++, Java, Visual Basic, PHP, C#) and really don't have a favorite.
I maintain that Berkeley Breathed is a genius.
One other thing... I stink at art and graphic design. My friend, Andy Blondin, helped out with my logo and the look of the web site. I gave him a few ideas of what I was looking for and he did an awesome Photoshop mock-up. Check out his web site here: andyblondin.com .
